THE ORIGINAL BROADWAY CAST RECORDING OF THE OUTSIDERS ALBUM AVAILABLE MAY 22, 2024

Today, Sony Masterworks Broadway, along with producers The Araca Group, American Zoetrope, Olympus Theatricals, Sue Gilad & Larry Rogowsky and Angelina Jolie, announce the forthcoming release of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of The Outsiders – A New Musical. With music and lyrics by Jamestown Revival (Jonathan Clay & Zach Chance) and Justin Levine, the digital album arrives May 22, 2024 and the physical CD is set for release on June 28, and available for preorder now. Today’s album announcement is accompanied by the third track release “Soda’s Letter,” which features vocals by Jason Schmidt with Brent Comer and Brody Grant – LISTEN HERE.

“Soda’s Letter” follows the release of the second track “Stay Gold,” which features vocals by Sky Lakota-Lynch (Johnny Cade) and Brody Grant (Ponyboy Curtis) and the premiere track release “Great Expectations,” performed by Brody Grant. The Broadway premiere of The Outsiders, the new musical based on the seminal novel by S.E. Hinton & Francis Ford Coppola’s landmark motion picture, is now in previews at Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street, NYC), with opening night set for next Thursday, April 11.

In Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967, Ponyboy Curtis, his best friend Johnny Cade and their Greaser family of “outsiders” battle with their affluent rivals, the Socs. This thrilling new Broadway musical navigates the complexities of self-discovery as the Greasers dream about who they want to become in a world that may never accept them. With a dynamic original score, The Outsiders is a story of friendship, family, belonging… and the realization that there is still “lots of good in the world.”

The Outsiders cast is led by Brody Grant as Ponyboy Curtis, Sky Lakota-Lynch as Johnny Cade, Joshua Boone as Dallas Winston, Brent Comer as Darrel Curtis, Jason Schmidt as Sodapop Curtis, Emma Pittman as Cherry Valance, Daryl Tofa as Two-Bit, Kevin William Paul as Bob and Dan Berry as Paul. The company also includes Jordan Chin, Milena J.
