Slipping into the post-election holiday spirit, LAURA BENANTI unwraps a timely new twist on a holiday classic entitled “(Everybody’s Waitin’ for) The Man With a Plan” – available everywhere now from Sony Music Masterworks. Laura collaborated with friend Randy Rainbow, the two-time EMMY® Award-nominated comedian, producer, actor, singer, writer, and creator of The Randy Rainbow Show, to pen the hilarious new lyrics for this cheeky seasonal anthem, produced by Matt Pierson. “(Everybody’s Waitin’ for) The Man With a Bag”was originally made famous by Kay Starr in 1950. On the new version, colorful horns pipe through boisterous verses as Laura details the #1 wish on America’s Christmas list, “Everybody’s waiting for the man with the plan, back in The White House again.”
A festive new music video accompanies today’s single release. Laura dons a sexy Santa costume, sings, dances, and ushers 46 right in the door—at the appropriate social distance, of course. It culminates with a moment of resolve as she croons, “Damn 2020, you sure tried it honey, but now that you’re ending, we just might be okay!” WATCH HERE.
