Candide Still Glitters At 55
December 1 marked 55 years since the Broadway opening of Leonard Bernstein’s Candide. While the original production was a 73 performance failure, it did feature a vocally-stunning turn from future Kennedy Center honoree Barbara Cook and left behind a fantastic score which was thankfully preserved by Columbia Records.
