The idiosyncratic composer-lyricist William Finn is best known for his so-called “Marvin Trilogy” – In Trousers, March of the Falsettos, and Falsettoland – three musicals that chronicle the lives of a forty-something Jewish man, Marvin, his ex-wife Trina, his boyfriend Whizzer, his son Jason, and his psychiatrist Mendel, and for the recent Broadway hit, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a Tony® winner in 2005.
Infinite Joy is a compendium of songs from various unfinished works and some that were cut from his produced shows, performed by Finn and an all-star cast that includes Liz Callaway, Carolee Carmello, Mary Testa, and Stephen DeRosa, among others.
