Daisy Eagan, born in Brooklyn in 1979, was just a child when she first joined the cast of Les Misérables. Initially, she was the replacement for Young Cosette, but as she grew, Eagan later became the replacement for Young Eponine. When she was eleven, Eagan played Mary Lennox in Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon’s musical, The Secret Garden. In 1991, Eagan won the Tony Award® for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her portrayal of Mary Lennox.
In 2000, Daisy Eagan played two roles in Richard Nelson and Shaun Davey’s musical adaptation of James Joyce’s novella, The Dead. One was as Rita, a music student; the other was as the ghost of Young Julia Morkan.
Eagan has been featured in a number of documentaries about Broadway and has appeared in several special concert programs, most notably Sondheim: A Celebration at Carnegie Hall, which aired as part of the Great Performances series on PBS.
