Elaine Stritch, Goddard Lieberson and Lehman Engel Goldilocks Photos Resurfaced from MWB Vault
A charming love letter to silent movies created by composer Leroy Anderson and drama critic Walter Kerr, Goldilocks had a memorable run on Broadway after it opened October 11, 1958, at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Dealing with an acid-tongued actress, played by Elaine Stritch, and a movie mogul infatuated with his own importance, portrayed by Don Ameche, the musical followed their love-hate relationship during the shooting of a film, which naturally led to a happy ending by the final curtain.
